Genome Project, Focus on Osteosarcoma

Broad Institute will give a presentation on their Genome project with a focus on Osteosarcoma.  This has become such a problem in our breed, everyone should make it a point to attend this lecture.  Researchers from Broad Institute will be at the Specialty collecting blood samples for their studies.  Please make time to take advantage of this opportunity to have your dogs collected.  There is no charge for the sample collection and they will not shave your dogs leg and lastly it only takes a few minutes to do the collection.  They are looking for samples from healthy dogs as well as dogs that are affected.

Wednesday & Thursday Morning, May 18 & 19 - 9:00 AM through end of Judging

Judges Education.  Hands-on immediately after judging.  All prospective Judges attending Ringside Mentoring will be required to attend the breed presentation on Wednesday evening to receive full credit and Certificate of Attendance.

Wednesday Evening, May 18 - 8:00 to 9:30 PM

"The Irish Wolfhound Form and Function”presented by Jocelyne Gagne.  This is a wonderful presentation which covers all aspects of the Breed.  We will all come away from this lecture with a total picture of the Irish Wolfhound.  No matter how long you have been involved with our wonderful breed, you will gain new insights after seeing and hearing this outstanding presentation.

Wednesday Evening, May 18 - Approx 9:00 PM

Dr. William Tyrrell will speak on “An Overview of Heart Problems in the Irish Wolfhound.”

This is a most valuable and informative presentation on the heart problems affecting our Irish Wolfhounds.
